Excellent article. Read it proudly to my "fat free" food purchasing family.

I had a question as far as sugar absorption with whole milk and skim milk. Someone had told me whole milk is better because the fat slows the absorption of sugar into the blood stream. Is there any merit to this?

I'll let someone with more knowledge field this but I believe it's yes the fat slows down the digestion of the sugars thus making it lower on the GI?
Even though the GI isn't the best judge (as it doesn't actually tell the insulin response just the blood glucose levels), I looked it up and Whole milk is 27 to skim milks 32... not a huge difference

Yes, the fat in whole milk slows down its absorption. All milk though is pretty insulinogenic.

this article was very interesting. I first got into understanding that maybe something is wrong with the world when people started telling me not to eat eggs! Even a small amount of research on eggs shows that people who eat eggs usually end up having lower cholesterol.

Also another thing that is interesting is that when people try to really reduce their calories while losing weight usually end up just burning their muscle weight before fat... making it wayyy more difficult to lose the fat!

either way this is interesting... if only I could get my fiance to understand that her low calorie/low fat diet is backwards!!!!

look forward to the next one..

Why not peanuts?

Peanut butter contains a mold which contains phyto-estrogens. Charles
Poliquin is quite adamant about this in his writings and seminars.
Secondly, almost all peanut butter (yes, even “natural”) and peanuts
you can buy are rancid, i.e. they contain oxidized fats, which are
well-documented carcinogens. Thirdly, peanuts contain mostly omega-6
fats, which are already generally excessive in the typical modern
diet.
You can still eat PB. You can eat whatever you want. Just know that
it might not effect you for the better. I don’t recommend it as clean
food, but I eat it as a cheat if it tastes good.

There is a post from a Poliquin seminar here

It probably won't hurt you but I just put it there since it's preferable to get your fat from other sources.

I ate some peanut butter and my dick fell off. :o

That is what I consider 1% stuff. When my training is perfect, my recovery is perfect and my diet is 99% perfect I will worry about phyto-estrogens!!!
